Housing Advisor II (Annual salary $29,239)
This position is responsible for interviewing, investigating, and verifying
eligibility, income, assets, deductions, and household composition of clients in
order to process housing assistance subsidies to clients and owners in
accordance with HUD and CMHA regulations and policies. Advises clients and
owners of housing assistance regulations policies and procedures.
All other things being equal and acceptable, applicants who are not current
CMHA employees, but who reside in units operated by CMHA, will be selected for
positions over outside candidates who are non-residents.
Minimum requirements
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations and use a 10 key adding
machine or calculator.
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to deal effectively with people of diverse economic backgrounds.
- Associate's Degree of equivalent combination of coursework in Business,
Sociology, Communication, or Community Relations.
- Good organizational skills with ability to accurately perform detailed
work.
- Ability to meet deadlines necessary, willingness to initiate tasks and
assume additional duties desired.
- At least two years' experience in social work or related field. A
Bachelor's Degree may substitute for one year's experience.
- Bilingual with ability to communicate in Somali or Spanish preferred.
